Toby Alderweireld is hoping to complete a move to Tottenham Hotspur after returning from his honeymoon in Bali.
Tottenham are understood to be edging closer to agreeing a fee for Alderweireld with Atletico Madrid, who had tried to send the central defender to Chelsea as part of a bid to re-sign Filipe Luis.
With Chelsea lukewarm on the idea of taking Alderweireld, Spurs have stepped up negotiations to make the Belgian their third signing of the summer.
Alderweireld is keen to partner his former Ajax team-mate and Belgium international colleague Jan Vertonghen in the centre of Tottenham’s defence next season.

Bin gespannt, ob er zu den Spurs geht. Würde es schade finden, aber wird uns Saints dann doch zu teuer sein.

Dankzij Chadli, Dembélé en Vertonghen ken ik al wat over deze club. Het is ook leuk om al enkele spelers te kennen."
