Al-Duhail Sports Club was officially established in 2009, under the name (Lekhwiya Sports Club), before its name was changed to Al Duhail in 2016. The football team began its journey in the second division championship and proved its capabilities after it succeeded in achieving promotion to the Stars League in its first season after its establishment.
